Perthshire Pride
The LGBT+ community was always here in Perthshire, with little coverage or celebration. Entirely run by volunteers, Perthshire Pride started in 2018 as a team of four, which grew along the way to become an extended family of talented and resourceful people.

Our very first Pride event in 2018 brought together over 4000 people.
The opening speech from Rev Scott Burton, apologising on behalf of the Church of Scotland for past prejudice and harm, made headlines.
Perthshire Pride continued on, holding three successful Pride events.

n 2019, the first Pride Parade, was led by LGBT+ right activist Sir Ian McKellen.
In 2020, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the repeal of Section 28 in Scotland, and LGBT+ awareness now being part of the school curriculum.
However, there is still much to be achieved.
